See the inside of Brownie’s bank AND support the Halifax Historical Museum

Downtown Daytona Beach’s own Halifax Historical Society Museum is holding it’s 8th Annual Surf Social Fundraiser on August 19, 2017.

This is a great opportunity to support an organization that does so much good for Beach Street (It’s tasked with preserving our history!).

It’s also a major chance to see the inside of Brownie the Town Dog of Daytona Beach‘s bank. Yes, you can walk the very building that Brownie himself went into many times for publicity events and to get money out of his account.

In our opinion, this building and organization are horribly under used by the local community and it’s time for more people to check it out.

Did you know that without the Halifax Historical Museum we would have very little information about Brownie the Town Dog of Daytona Beach?

The Museum is the go to place for all the articles about Brownie from the 40s and 50s. They are the place that the press, historians, and the city government go to for official, cleaned up Brownie photos that are ready to be used in publications.

And Brownie is just one tiny piece of the story they tell daily about this area’s history.

Alvin and Eddie from Brownie’s Dog Boutique are members and every citizen of Beachside and the Beach Street area should be too. In fact, it would be wonderful to see ALL the businesses of Beach Street join to show support.

It’s $35 to join.

We hope to see you at the Surf Social on August 19th.

Here is information on joining.
