This video by the awesome local Youtuber ChadGallavanter tells the story of Brownie, the Town Dog of Daytona Beach. Chad interviews Eddie James, owner of Brownie’s Dog Boutique and Warren Trager, who knew Brownie. The video was part of the first annual Daytona Beach Dog Film Festival.
This is another find in a folder marked “Animals” in the Halifax Historical Museum. Brownie is called “Pet of Daytona Beach” and it’s dated 1949.
