I have only seen this photo in this article.

It appears in no other publication that I’ve come across and I don’t know its source. The original is not in the Halifax Museum as far as I know.

This is Brownie the Town Dog of Daytona Beach lying on the ground. He appears to be perhaps 8 or 9 years old.

He is not as heavy as he would become in later years. He also appears much more labrador retriever than his usual mixed look.
